About Huntsville Bat Removal

Welcome to huntsvillebat.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Huntsville, Alabama. Bats are nocturnal creatures who use echolocation to hunt for their prey. They prefer a dark and quiet environment to nest into and breed in. While this is all common information, most homeowners do not realize that their attics are perfect for bat colonies, as they are dark, mostly untouched, and relatively quiet. This can cause a lot of problems for homeowners, especially since bats are quiet and don't cause much noise, making them quite undetectable. As a bat control company, we make sure to remove 100% of bats without harming a single one. We also use exclusion devices that allow bats to leave the premises but they are unable to get in. This enables them to hunt and leave freely at night, but they will be unable to get back inside your attic. Once we have made sure that all bats are out of your attic, we will seal up any hole or crack that they might get into. Our inspection process is also very thorough: we don't focus our efforts in just your attic, we make sure that every part of your house is inspected. We also offer advice on how to deal with the damage these little creatures have done. We do not leave a site without making sure everything is sanitary, so we offer cleaning, deodorizing, and decontamination services to remove bat guano from your attic and your property. This prevents further danger for you and your family, since bats can carry rabies and histoplasmosis. We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 256-568-6920 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

Trapping and Removing Bats – Should You Use a Cage?

Bats can be a serious problem when they decide to invade your home. Wherever they are, whether in a bedroom or in the attic, you want them gone quickly.

There are a few methods of bat removal out there. Some work well, others not so much. When trying to figure out what to do, you want to go with the best possible option.

A popular one with all types of animals is a cage. Cages allow you to trap and remove animals easily without having to go near them. You can trap them and bring them somewhere far from your home, removing the problem entirely. Are they the best option for bats, though?

Using Cages with Bats

Cages can work for a lot of different animals, but not bats. Trying to catch a bat with a cage is going to be difficult, if not impossible. It is not worth the time and energy you would put into it.

Normally, to use a cage, you would put in food that would attract the animal and wait it out. Most animals would smell the food and go looking, assuming they are not aware of what is about to happen. Some of the smarter animals do catch on quickly.

You cannot expect the same thing from bats, however. Beyond the fact that they eat insects, which are much harder to use as cage bait, they also are unlikely to go to the ground and into the cage. These are small animals that prefer to stay in the sky, or at least on high ground. You are not going to get them to go into a cage.

What You Can Do

Instead of trying something that is not going to work, go for something that will – exclusion. Exclusion traps and funnels are your best bet with bats. It gets them out of the house easily and quickly, with nothing for you to do.

Set up the funnel where the bats go out and do nothing else. It is far more effective and you know it will work. They are going to leave the property to find food, they have to, and they will have no way back in afterwards.

There are ways to get rid of bats, but cages are not one of them. Cages are ineffective methods of bat removal and you should not rely on them for this job. It is not what you need.
